Privacy Notice

I try to collect as little information as possible on aryapaw.dev. The site has no user accounts, advertising trackers, or forms asking visitors to provide personal information.
This notice explains what information may be processed when you use the site and why.
Who operates the site
aryapaw.dev is owned and operated by Аристарх Ледецкий (AryaPaw).

Information that may be processed
Website operation
The site is hosted using infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc..
When your browser requests the site, Vercel receives technical information needed to deliver and protect it. This may include your IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, browser and device information, the requested page, request time, and technical information about the connection.
I don't create my own visitor database from this infrastructure information and don't use it for advertising or individual visitor profiling.
Analytics and performance
For some visitors, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
Web Analytics provides aggregated website statistics, such as pages visited, the source of a visit (referrer), approximate geographic location, browser, operating system, and device type.
Vercel Web Analytics doesn't use cookies to identify visitors. To count unique visitors, Vercel creates a temporary hash from the incoming request. The hash is valid for one day, and information used to determine a visitor session is automatically discarded after 24 hours.
Speed Insights is used to measure website performance. It may process the page URL and route, network connection type, browser, device, operating system, country, and Web Vitals performance measurements. According to Vercel, Speed Insights data isn't associated with an individual visitor or IP address and isn't designed to reconstruct an individual's browsing history.
Web Analytics and Speed Insights aren't loaded for requests that Vercel identifies as originating from Russia (RU). They also aren't loaded when the request country can't be determined.
For this decision, the application uses the country code determined by Vercel. The application doesn't store the visitor's IP address or the result of this check in its own database, cookies, or browser local storage (localStorage).
The country determination is based on network geolocation and isn't a determination of a visitor's citizenship or residence.
Even when analytics is disabled, Vercel still receives the ordinary network request required to deliver the site.
Site preferences
The site uses browser local storage (localStorage) to remember interface preferences such as your selected language, appearance settings, custom cursor setting, and similar preferences.
These settings remain on your device. I don't use them to identify visitors or build visitor profiles, and they aren't sent to Web Analytics.
You can remove them at any time using your browser's controls for clearing site data for aryapaw.dev.
The site doesn't contain a contact form.
If you choose to email me, I receive only the information you decide to include in the message, such as your email address, name, and message content. I use it to respond and continue the conversation you initiated.
Why information is used
Technical processing is necessary to operate, deliver, and protect the site.
Analytics is used to understand general website usage, identify technical issues, and improve the site's performance and user experience.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies and the information involved constitutes personal data, legitimate interests in operating, securing, understanding, and improving the site may provide the relevant lawful basis.
Where correspondence concerns potential work or a contract, processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
I don't sell personal information or use visitor information for advertising or advertising profiling.
Vercel and international processing
Vercel Inc. is a United States company. Depending on the infrastructure involved, technical information may be processed by Vercel and its service providers in the United States and other countries.
Vercel describes its own data processing practices, international transfers, and service providers in its Privacy Notice.
I don't export Web Analytics or Speed Insights data into my own analytics system or create a separate long-term history of individual visits.
Information used by Web Analytics to determine a visitor session is discarded after 24 hours. Further retention of aggregated analytics, performance information, and infrastructure data is governed by the relevant Vercel services, plan, and policies.
Retention and security
I don't maintain a separate database of aryapaw.dev visitors.
Preferences stored in localStorage remain on your device until you or your browser removes them.
Email correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, preserve relevant communication context, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Data sent between your browser and the site is protected using HTTPS. The site is designed around data minimisation: only information needed for the relevant functionality is collected or transmitted.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to information about the processing of your personal data, access, correction or deletion, restriction of processing, objection, and other rights provided by applicable law.

The analytics statistics available to me aren't intended to identify individual visitors. As a result, in some cases I may not be technically able to locate a particular analytics record and associate it specifically with you.

I may update this notice if the site's functionality, service providers, or applicable requirements change.
